• Long ago, Norwegian sweaters were knitted with a simple white base that was often tucked into pants, making intricate patterns at the bottom unnecessary due to the high cost of patterned knitting. The Torridal honors this tradition by keeping the classic white field at the bottom but enriching it with the original Setesdal pattern, where the crosses were historically believed to protect against evil spirits. Staying true to the original Setesdal pattern, the Torridal sweater preserves the authentic craftsmanship and timeless charm of traditional Norwegian knitting
